Angela is someone whom I considered a close personal friend. But in stopping to think about it, I think there are hundreds around the world who would say the same. There was just something about Angela that people loved. I was never quite sure what exactly it was, but I did reflect on it often during the time we lived together. Wherever she went, people opened up their hearts to her and told her about their lives and problems and asked her to pray for them. I think it was because she was genuinely concerned and interested in each person she came in contact with.
When I heard the news of Angela’s death, of course it initially deeply saddened me, but in reflecting on it later, it made me take a look at my own life and how I would want to be remembered when I pass on. Angela is someone whose life on Earth touched thousands of lives and made them better through her love and care. I want to be remembered like that as well.
I’ll remember Angela for her smile, her laugh that was so wholehearted, her love for our children, how she would go out of her way to find neat things to read to the children and teach them, the snacks she would bring me daily when I was pregnant and couldn’t eat hardly anything, the crazy adventures we had together, her youthfulness and lively fun spirit. There’s just so much, I could go on and on. She was an amazing person who will always be remembered and loved.
